This deal will enable Microgaming to create slot games based on the top movie franchises of the past decade. Lord of the Rings is one of the movies being considered for the role as and online slot, and Microgaming is hoping it will be equally as popular is a slot format.

Full details of the new games have not yet been released, but there is speculation that the games will be released much like the movie was in theatres, in three stages. The first of the slots are expected to become available later this year.
This is not the first time that Microgaming has dove into the world of games based on movies. Recently, the software provider produced a Hellboy slot, and the feedback was substantial enough to drive the software giant into more deals with major movie companies.
